  I'm 45 and have always been absolutely terrified of the dentist. My early childhood dentist was mean & I have extremely sensitive teeth. I've had relatively major surgeries w/o fear, but a trip to the dentist has me acting like a child. However, that's changed. The hygienists are so gentle and very kind. They obviously care very much about their patients and are absolutely in tune with them. They let me know every single time before they move to a new spot. In addition, w/o my saying a word, they will *immediately* stop and give me a breather if they sense nervousness or know they have hit a sensitive spot. They'll talk to you for a bit and have you smiling or perhaps even laughing. Dr. Gombert is also very personable and is superior at what he does. I'm in the process of having several 20 year old crowns redone & am able to be sedated (with a couple pills, not formal sedation, albeit I think he does that). Had 2 crowns done in 12/16 & was filled w/ anxiety. I was able to communicate during the procedure, but had no fear at all. I have an appointment in a week for 2 more replacements & have no fear at all. AND. . .the CROWNS ARE MADE WHILE YOU"RE IN THE CHAIR!!! NO TEMPORARY CROWNS, NO COMING BACK--EVERYTHING IS DONE IN ONE TRIP!!!! (I'm thinking he may have a 3D printer in the back making the crowns, will have to double-check.) The crowns definitely seem to be very high quality--the tops are "crisp" and aren't just blunted down. Finally, it seems even the best doctors' offices I go to have grumpy, inefficient people in the front. However, his front office staff are some of the friendliest and most efficient I've ever encountered. Just more evidence of his attention to detail.
